Stupid essays

Hey guys! I've been spending my holidays working at a pharmacy and hanging out with Mandy. I've actually been working ALOT at the pharmacy because for some reason I can not think of, the number of people wanting drugs triple in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Anyway, surfing the net I come across the LOLfest that is stupid essays.
Highlights include:

In an essay about the most influential person in World War II...
"Like all black youth, Jimmy joined a gang, in order to get his props"
"Jimmy snuck into the Japanese base in Tokyo, and fought off countless samurai and ninjas, until he came face to face with the president of Japan"
"Jimmy Mcperson probably saved the world, because he killed Hitler"

More at http://stupidessays.googlepages.com/
"In conclusion girls are icky."

With the wii hitting the shelves so soon, this is just a friendly reminder to tighten those wrist straps or suffer the consequences.

To become better in Tekken 5 or play FFXII....
- Practicing in Tekken 5 is boring but I will get better which is equivalent to more respect at the arcade.
- On the other hand..it's Freaking Final Fantasy.

Damn choices.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories

Disgaea 2:Cursed Memories is the sequel to the amazing traditional tactical RPG for the PS2. Disgaea astounded many because it didn't take itself too seriously, parodied other RPGs yet provided depth and infinite replayability. Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories adheres to the same formula as Disgaea with slight additions here and there.

The citizens in the world of Disgaea have all been "transformed" into human/demon hybrids and it is up to Adell, the only pure human left in the world, to vanquish Ovelord Zenon and lift the curse. However things don't go to plan and right at the start of the game Adell is ritually bound to the Overlord's only daughter and thus begins the adventure of reuniting daughter with her evil Overlord father. The "party" you would have assembled by the end of the game consists of a whole bunch of freaks including a flying talking frog, a short female ninja, a "has been" celebrity and a beauty queen who controls a whole army of demon penguins.Evidently, the story does not take itself seriously at all but moves along at a good pace and does provide a few chuckles.

The battle system used in Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories sticks to the traditional tactics RPG seen in games like the original Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics. For those who are lovers of this type of genre, you should feel right at home but the game does provide a comprehensive tutorial for newcomers. In general, you and the enemy take turns moving characters across a map covered in squares to defeat all of the opponent's characters. What seperates this game from the rest of the tactic RPGs is the inclusion of the "lifting" function. If one of your characters are next to another character, you can lift and throw the other character a certain number of squares. "Lifting" enables a greater number of viable strategies and must be used effectively in order to complete the game.

Completing the game takes approximately 20-30 hours but you can keep on playing this game for literally hundreds of hours and still not have completed all the sidequests. In most rpgs, you get up level 100 and that is the maximum you can go. In Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories the maximum level one can be is 9999. The final boss at the end of the story is approximately level 90 while the strongest boss in the game is 2000. The amount of time spent leveling in order to beat this boss and completing the many optional dungeons is atleast greater than 100 hours.

Graphically, Disgea 2:Cursed Memories is almost exactly the same as the original Disgaea. There is nothing wrong with the sprites, it just could have been polished slightly more but it is still a beautiful looking game.

Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories  is one of those rare RPG gems that incorporate an excellent engaging battle system and limitless replayability for the more hardcore gamers. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics or the original Disgaea, do not even hesitate and get this game now. For those who abhor playing chess or anything like chess, avoid this game at all costs.

"alb2,1,1,f+2~1,DF+1+2"
The above is my rather crappy juggle I thought of for Steve Fox in Tekken 5. Just thought I would share this with all the Tekken players out there even though it might have got removed from Dark Resurrection.(Havn't tested) It works wonders on the CPU.

If you go to USYD and for some reason you need to find me, chances are I'm arcading hard or at the pool area. Friends tend to come up to me and go "Kevin, your a freakin' pro!" The thing is, I'm not. I'm just above average at best. With the amount of money and time I have spent on arcades and games I should be better, but I'm not. Like last Thursday, played 6 games of Tekken 5:DR at Burwood and lost 2-3 in all the games.

The reason is I don't commit myself to one game like the real pros do. There are Tekken pros, SF pros, Third Strike pros, Time Crisis pros, MVC2 pros, XVSF pros and the list goes on. The thing is, you don't see any cross-breeding. No T5:DR + Third Strike Pros. I play all the above games and as a consequence not a master of any.

Games I have played significantly
  • Final Fantasy 7 (I won't list the hours played for the Final Fantasies because it's atleast 70+ for each and Final Fantasy X is like 200+)
  • Final Fantasy 8
  • Final Fantasy 9
  • Final Fantasy X
  • Final Fantasy X-2
  • Final Fantasy 6
  • Legend Of Dragoon
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Chrono Cross
  • Grandia
  • Suikoden
  • Suikoden II
  • Wild Arms
  • Wild Arms II
  • Legend of Legaia
  • Capcom Fighting Jam
  • X-men Legends
  • X-men Legend II
  • . Hack part 1 and 2
  • Marvel VS Capcom
  • Marvel VS Capcom II
  • SVC: Chaos
  • Capcom vs SNK 2
  • Dragon Quest VIII
  • Kingdom Hearts
  • Kingdom Hearts II
  • Shadow Of Colossus
  • Shadow Hearts 3
  • X-men Vs Street Fighter
  • Devil May Cry
  • Devil May Cry III
  • God of War
  • Katamari Damacy
  • Grandia II
  • Tekken 5
  • Time Crisis 2
These are the games I can list from memory. There's atleast 2-3 times that many in my games cabinet. What has been bothering me lately is that most of the save data for these games are lost forever. I lost my memory card at Anna Bay last year and it contained atleast 1000+ hours of gaming. (this was over a 4 year period so it isn't as bad as it sounds). *sigh*

If you read up to here, man you are bored. Back to Steve Fox-ing. If anyone is willing to lend me their psp to play dark resurrection at uni, give me a buzz. Oh! And all you people who just got Tekken 5:DR for their PSP, you better all start playing at arcades! I need people to play against who are on my level of experience so we can all get better!!
